Aesha Patel

President
Director of IT and Outreach

Aesha is a first year student at the University of Saskatchewan. Within her high school, she was the President of Math Club and an Executive Committee Member on their Yearbook team. Growing up, she has always had a passion for STEM; participating in several math competitions, getting involved in science-based programs, and actively volunteering in the community! Her favourite STEM subjects include Mathematics, Biology, and Chemistry, with a fascination of the design and tech world. By starting this chapter in her city, she hopes to promote extensive STEM education and inspire students to explore their fields of interest outside of the learning curriculum with like-minded youth!

Hetvi Darji

Director of Marketing

Hetvi Darji attends the University of Saskatchewan as a first year student. She moved to Saskatoon, Canada in 2019 from India. She is really passionate about STEM and keenly participates in science and math competitions and clubs. Since she was a child, she has been interested in science and math. Through STEM for FEM YXE, she hopes to impassion students in STEM and foster curiosity in science and math. In her leisure time, she enjoys reading, painting, and singing. Hetvi is looking forward to working with the children and raising the awareness of providing STEM education to girls.

Pavithra Ponnolu

Director of Graphic Design/Art

Pavithra Ponnolu is a grade 12 student at Watchung Hills Regional High School in New Jersey in the U.S. She finds subjects in the sciences especially interesting, such as astronomy and biology. She is currently interested in medicine and is fundraising and involved with a youth leadership program in the American Cancer Society, and spends the rest of her time reading, cooking and tending to her lemon tree. She has grown up around close family and friends with STEM oriented careers and aspires to follow this path to one day pursue her own career in the STEM field!

Bryanna Conway

Former Director of Graphic Design/Art

Bryanna is a grade 11 student at Bedford Road Collegiate where she partakes in the SAGE program, a program for Saskatoon's academically gifted youth. Being in this program since the fifth grade, she has developed a passion for both math and science. Of the sciences, she’s always favoured biology and hopes to pursue her interests in a future in dermatology. Outside of academics, Bryanna is also passionate about the performing arts such as dance, music, and theatre.

Sophia Han

Sophia is a grade 10 student attending Aden Bowman Collegiate in the Collective Voice program, which focuses on empowering youth to speak out on social justice. From grades 5 to 8, she was part of the SAGE program for academically gifted students in Saskatoon. Since she was young, she has always enjoyed and been active in various fields and subjects, although she aspires to pursue a career in STEM the most, especially mathematics and science. During her free time, she often explores both familiar and new STEM subjects to her. Outside of STEM, she is also passionate about world history, classical music, swimming, and visual art.

Lily Nordgren

Lily Nordgren is a grade 12 student at Burnaby Mountain Secondary. She developed an interest in science while taking physics and biology courses, and aspires to a career in publishing with an emphasis on environmentalism. In her free time she enjoys volunteering, reading, and learning about sustainability. Through STEM for FEM, Lily hopes to increase youth interest in STEM and contribute to a more accessible future.

Macy Brunsel

Macy is in grade 10 and currently attends Griffith woods school, Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Her favourite subject in school is science and she is hoping to pursue a career in biology. Macy hopes to continue on a career path in environmental studies or marine biology. The origin of her interest in science started in grade 8 when she attended a week trip to Bamfield. She is involved in gymnastics after school and participated in volunteering at the Calgary Public Library. Macy is proud to say that she was selected to take part in the my world conference in 2019.

Martina Mikhaiel

Martina is a first year university student in Mississauga, ON. She's originally from Cairo, Egypt but moved to Canada in 2014 with her family. She's an ambitious and curious girl that likes to read a lot and go on multiple adventures. Most of her family members have jobs in the STEM field which grew her interest in becoming a Civil Engineer. Besides that, she loves math and excels in physics and chemistry with ease. Last summer Martina finished her instructing course for swimming and immediately found a job as a swimming instructor, she has fun working in a pool with kids while teaching them something she's passionate about. She believes that her involvement in Scouts and Faith Works boosted her confidence in speaking up and leading events. Overall, she has a pretty busy life but is always ready to help!

Ayatallah Abdelbaset

Meet Ayatallah Elgamal, a rising senior in Ismailia STEM High School in Egypt. She is interested in entrepreneurship, advocacy, and biochemistry. She is a global youth reporter in team harmony foundation, and she is currently working on filming a web series about defending hate crimes. She is representing Egypt in the African voice debating association. She is volunteering in We54 Africa. She started her own business in voice-over via freelancing. She was a delegate in GLOMUN 2020. She is an ambassador at Yale MUN. She is an ambassador at the world youth parliament for children and she is looking forward to street children through her work.

Althea Ocomen

Althea Ocomen is a high school student from the Philippines who is extremely passionate about science and mathematics. She is a representative of her school in math and science competitions. She strives to empower women all over the world to embrace and pursue STEM.

Ally Chan

Ally is a first year student at the University of Toronto in Ontario, Canada. She is passionate about STEM subjects, especially Biology and Chemistry, hoping to pursue a career in Paediatric Pharmacy. She is super excited to share her passion for STEM with other like-minded individuals! Ally hopes to help enhance their knowledge and learning experience through her research with STEM for FEM! In her free time, you can find her writing, drawing, painting, reading, playing volleyball or watching Disney+.

Katie Berdahl

Katie Berdahl is a senior at Marion Graham Collegiate in Saskatoon, SK.  She has always shown an interest in science and mathematics. Katie took part in the Kumon Math program throughout Grades 3 to 9.  She especially enjoys mathematics, in part thanks to this program. In the future, she hopes to become an engineer. In her free time, she enjoys playing piano, clarinet, and making pins with her button press.

Yujin Huh

Yujin is a rising senior at Las Lomas High School and is excited to be a STEM Tutor for STEM for FEM YXE. She enjoys learning about topics such as chemistry, calculus, and biology! As she is able to connect with more young students and help them excel in their studies, she hopes to become an impactful tutor.

Sophia Han

Sophia is most passionate about math and science in STEM. She spends much of her time outside of school honing her musical and visual art skills. In the future, she hopes to pursue a career in the field of chemistry or biology. She joined STEM for FEM YXE as a tutor to utilize her knowledge to guide younger students to become better learners.
