Renewable Energy: Why it is Important to Study?

Updated: Jul 31, 2021

Renewable energy is a type of energy source that can be re-made or reused, this means that it will never run out. It has become increasingly popular for individuals and companies to use renewable energy as their main energy source and in fact crucial that governments start to implement it in countries soon as this could be the key to stopping global warming. This is one of the reasons why it is extremely important that scientists continue to study and improve their knowledge of renewable energy.

One reason that the continued study of renewable energy is important is that it contributes less to global warming. The energy sector in multiple countries produces a large amount of greenhouse gas emissions. By doing this and human activities, we are overloading the atmosphere with heat-trapping emissions. Continuing the use of non-renewable energy will make it harder to do anything about global warming. If countries, businesses, and individuals chose to make the change to renewable energy, then emissions can be reduced significantly. Renewable energy produces little to no harmful emissions and is clearly the better choice for the environment.

Another reason why the learning and study of renewable energy is important is that its continued use will improve public health. Not only is the furthered study of renewable energy essential, but it will help the public good and what is best for society as a whole. Air and water pollution are harmful and can negatively affect people in many ways. Coal and natural gas production contribute large amounts to water and air pollution. It can be linked with breathing problems, cancer, heart attacks, and premature death. With more knowledge of renewable energy, we can make use of renewable energy and reduce the harmful effects caused by the production of non-renewable energy.

The last reason to study renewable energy is that it will always be there. We will never run out of renewable energy resources. Sources such as the sun, wind, water, and plant waste will naturally replenish. Renewable energy is permanent while non-renewable energy is not. It is extremely important that the study of these energy sources continue, because without renewable energy humans will run out of energy sources sooner than we think.

Overall, there are a large number of benefits that come with the use of renewable energy — and if scientists continue to study this topic, then we can discover even more benefits than what we already know of. If humans continue the use of non-renewable energy, then the global warming effects it causes will become irreversible. As the next generation, we have to know what is important to be able to preserve the Earth. Renewable energy is our best energy choice and it is extremely important that we realize how important it is to our Earth’s environment before too late.
